She had the best of shapes
Her perfume scented like roses and grapes
And as I watched her I felt raped
Her skin colour glowed like the gold from South Africa
Her form was fine like timbers from Cameroon
Her voice flowed like Victoria Falls in Tanzania
And in the darkness I saw her white teeth were like diamonds
from Liberia
Her breasts were solid like mountain Kilimanjaro
I presumed it flowed with milk like the rich oil fields in Nigeria
Her waist was curvy and vast like the Sahara desert
And I could tell she was a beauteous feminine
For her beauty could make the potency in impotent men
resurrect
But then the lights came on and oh what a shock!
I realised her head was shaped like the African continent
The back of her head stretched like an elbow
And her chin seemed prolong like an arrow's bow
Her nose was stretched from her face
Like how Madagascar is far from the rest of Africa
Her face seemed swollen, distorting the beauty I presumed
dear
And she seem drunk but not from drinking beer
Her makeup faded any time her tears flowed
Yet I saw no one close to her giving her blows
So I got close and gave her a hug
And she poured all her sentiments out to me as if I were a
jug
And this was what she said to me
My name is Africa
Even though I have been given all I need from nature
Those taking care of me continue to misuse me to the latter
My face contorts anytime I see what happens on the continent
The wars and attacks, the corruption and mistrust
Hunger now lives in my belly although our soil is fertile
Unemployment and poverty now hangs around like witchcraft
Yet our leaders live comfortable lives above us like a
moving spacecraft
So I plead to you leaders of Africa
Lead us well and do not lord over us
Manage our resources and do not misuse them
Provide us with development for us to stop retrogressing
And stop doing two by four constructions because of
elections
Give us unity, do not promote enmity
For another generation will come after us
To inherent the Africa we will leave behind
T-DZANIE!
